Watsonville, California, Studio Judy G presents new work Taking Off - Danny Georges photographs and Men in Nature - Judy Gittelsohn paintings.

Cousins, Danny and Judy grew up together in Portland, Oregon. They spent their childhood rambling amidst the unspoiled spacious suburbs of Portland and the splendid shores of Cannon Beach. Separately, they became practicing artists. Danny worked in sculpture and now photography and Judy has consistently painted. They both recently relocated from densely populated places to more rural homes. Danny lives in Walden, New York, and Judy lives and works in Watsonville.

Studio Judy G is an Art Gallery and Judy’s painting and teaching studio.

Wine, Beer and Art walk

Event goers will receive a wine glass, a tote bag and passport book featuring all downtown locations for one tasting at each site. Sample up to 21 wineries and breweries.

The City of Watsonville and the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture are pleased to partner together to present our 3rd Annual Wine, Beer and Art walk. After Pausing the event for two years due to COVID-19, we decided to bring this event back in 2022.

This event will be held in our Beautiful, Historic Downtown Watsonville.

This event is a great way for locals and people from out of town to experience the great wines, craft beers, delicious food and artwork by talented local artists while they stroll our historical downtown.

This event was extremely popular last time it was held and sold out. We expect it to be even more successful this year!

Three Punk Painters and My Mom

THREE PUNK PAINTERS AND MY MOM features works by Shirley Gittelsohn, a celebrated Oregon regional artist, and three initiators of the San Francisco Punk scene. Penelope Houston shows her mugshot portraits, Debora lyall exhibits a series of symbolic, colorful scenes, and Judy Gittelsohn presents her recent figurative paintings.

The 1970’s and ‘80’s were the spark. While Shirley painted in Oregon, 20-year-olds Debora, Penelope,and Judy were studying painting at the San Francisco Art Institute while playing in punk bands in the early years of Punk. This show pays homage to that fertile time.
